Mobile City sits on the Interstate 30 corridor just east of Rockwall, which puts it about fifteen minutes from our office on Lakeview Parkway. It is one of the smallest incorporated cities in Texas by area, and the mail comes addressed to Rockwall, so it gets folded into the bigger town and skipped over.
Mobile City began as an 8.8 acre mobile home park and incorporated in 1990, and the housing is still mostly manufactured homes on a very small footprint. That changes the work. The roofs are shallow pitched, so trouble starts at the seams, the edge trim, the vent boots and the ridge rather than out in the open field, and hail often dents without leaking right away. On a low slope water does not run off so much as sit, which is why a dent that has not opened up yet still turns into a ceiling stain a few months later.
